For this month's I went with a character I haven't posted on here before. Her hobby is forced to become fighting after she is plunged into a world with an alternate dimension.

Her name is Kate. She's from a novel I wrote for NaNoWriMo a few years ago. It's an urban fantasy based in a suburb of Dallas where I went to high school (I'd recently read a book with a very realistic setting and I wanted to try for the sort of environment). Kate, a high school student, inherits a leather jacket from her grandfather. It turns out the leather is a thing called night leather which allows the wearer to see interact with an alternate dimension full of monster. Unfortunately, once the wearer makes contact with a creature from that dimension, they can be attacked by the monsters with or without the leather, although they still need the leather to see the dimension. She is forced to learn how to fight, and fast, as she comes to terms with her duel world.
