I'm writing a novel as part of a Nerdist/Inkshares competition about a video-game playing octopus and would be interested in paying someone to do some concept artwork. I love what you have done and so wondered if you would be interested in talking? You can check out my story at www.inkshares.com/books/squids⦠ It's currently in 5th place overall. The top 3 get immediately published.

Hi! Sorry for replying so late. But thank you! It's so cool to hear about people seeing my drawings in Perth! Also, your drawings are super retrostylish.

Stunning.
What kind of ink pens do you use/recommend?

I use a Hunt 100 Artist nib for most things. You can get a very expressive line from it.
&thanks!

Very different from my interpretation of what octopus do with their free time but still fantastic. c:

In my opinion they actually kind of look evil most of the time, so they'd probably be doing more sinister stuff....

I always thought they would spend their time at the circus, being the ring leader or something else that would be intensified by having so many arms.

oooh That's totally the feeling.. fidgetting with all "arms" but doing nothing productive! The whiteness and void of a sheet of paper is terrifying ...

My entire life is that moment.
I find though, that the best ideas come when you aren't looking for them.

Haha yay!! I'm really happy you can recognise the expression, it was difficult to make an octopus pose "thoughtfully"...
