Description Here I've talked about fighters of the Smash Bros. Series who should never be dropped from the roster ever: www.deviantart.com/curioususer…

These meanwhile are characters that haven't been dropped from the roster before that are uncertain to stay that way.
*Any Fire Emblem Character besides Marth: Each Fire Emblem game has a different set of heroes. The only FE Fighter in the past that ever got dropped from the roster was Roy, for clone purposes, luckily though he could return not fully cloned later on, undergoing what Falco went. Still though, the only FE Character unlikely to ever be dropped from the roster is Marth for playing the key part of the franchise (I'd say the same thing for Shulk when the Xenoblade franchise finally gets more fighters). Others from later games in the franchise though have been fine additions to the franchise such as with the Avatars, though Fire Emblem fighters in my opinion with high certainties of being dropped are those fully cloned/from the same game as another character (I'm looking at Lucina and Chrom). It's a good thing though we've been proven that the Fire Emblem franchise can indeed have more then 2 playable characters per game.
*Any Pokemon Character besides Pikachu and Jigglypuff: No newly introduced Pokemon Fighter in Melee returned in Brawl, luckily Lucario helped make up for Mewtwo's departure, who hadn't been up to much in the games and anime between the release of Melee and Brawl anyway. Luckily both Mewtwo and Lucario did have much going on with them in the games and anime between the release of Brawl and Smash 4 that got them both returning (Mewtwo though was DLC). I guess the chances of Pokemon returning is all based on what they've been up to in the games and anime in the time leading to the next game in the series. I admit it would be nice to see a Fully Evolved Grass Starter join the battle with Greninja and Incineroar in future, thus reuniting them all. Luckily we've been proven that more then 2 Pokemon in each Smash Bros. game can be veterans. In later games though I think it would actually make sense to drop all Kanto Starters altogether.
*8bit Ambassadors other then Mr. Game & Watch: 8bit Ambassadors are not one of those fighters likely to never be dropped from the roster, especially as proven by the Ice Climbers in Smash 4 (mainly due to them being unable to run smoothly at 60fps like the other fighters on the 3DS), so I would not be surprised if a game without ROB and the Duck Hunt Dog ever came to be. Mr. Game & Watch though should never be dropped for the love of having been around longer then Mario and having the Game & Watch systems represented in Smash Bros. in a way.
*Toon Link: He has the same thing as you can say about Young Link for being another version of Link. I guess he only returned in Smash 4 based on how they were remastering The Wind Waker for the Wii U released a year prior.
*Wii Fit Trainer: If it's true that the Wii Fit series has no future then I don't think the Wii Fit Trainer will have a future in the roster, though another character from a game dedicated to Miis would be a nice addition for future installments from something released between Ultimate and the next game in the series.
*Cloud: Based on how not so close Nintendo is with Square Enix and based on how little the Final Fantasy series was represented in Smash Bros. (no Final Fantasy trophies/spirits other then Cloud himself, only 2 Final Fantasy music, only representations from Cloud's game of origin, no Final Fantasy Assist Trophies, and Cloud speaking Japanese in all parts of the world), I can't say for sure Cloud has a good chance of being back in future installments, nor do I see any other representations from Square Enix being in future installments.
*Bayonetta: Since she's from games Rated M for Mature (she can toned down though for Smash Bros.), but with the Switch exclusive Bayonetta 3 arriving the future, it would be good to make use of stuff from that game in the future I'll admit, but she's still an uncertainty of never being dropped (it would all depend on what she gets up to in the years, and if or if not she becomes a gaming icon like Sonic and PAC-Man already are).
*Simon and Richter: Any game that doesn't have Snake might as well not have the Castlevania duo either, since they were both created by Konami, though any game in the future with Simon will probably also have Richter (getting semi-cloned) as well, much like how any game in the future with Ryu will probably also have Ken (getting semi-cloned) as well.
*Isobel: Only AC Fighter likely to never be dropped from the roster would be the Villager himself. Come the next installment they might actually use the popular character of the Upcoming Animal Crossing game for the Switch instead.
The same I say for any Echo Fighters that don't play that much of a key part in their games/franchises (those that do can be made into Semi-Clones like Falco had been), though I do definitely think replacing some of them with those who have their own unique moveset in Future Installments would be a nice addition (eg. Paper Mario and Sylux). Overall I won't mind who gets dropped from the roster as well as it's none of those mentioned in the deviation I have linked (those circled are dependable).

Ike: We have a tone of sword characters it is possible he could be dropped for a game or two.

Pokemon trainer: Technically yes he was dropped before (Though Charzard was still around.) so he could be dropped again.

Lucario, Greninja, and Incineroar: There's never a guarantee when it comes to Pokemon characters. So many to chose and new games and Pokemon always come out...

R.O.B: I am unsure he'll be dropped I am unsure he won't but I lean more toward him staying. If Subspace holds some relevancy to Sakurai then he might stay because it was the first time ROB had any importance in a story mode and it was a story Sakurai was in charge and the folks at SORA treat their own characters or the ones they worked with very close with kind of well.

Toon Link: There are a bunch of Links that play very similar so it wouldn't be surprising if he or young disappear from the roster for a bit.

Wii Fit Trainer: Considering how the switch is made (And it's not a Wii anything.) it is possible that this character might not see anymore relevance though it is still possible for some movement based game involving this character might come along in the near future but not under its former name.

Cloud: To be honest, i'm surprised he's still hear or better yet that he even got in this game to begin with. They must really love the fans if they're gonna do all this much legal and licensing work for so little. If this is Cloud's (Or any Square Enix character's) last smash appearance then shoot, see ya! I won't miss you or square if it makes the smash bros team's job easier. At least until they wish to cooperate more...

Bayonetta: I don't know, Nintendo may be mostly inoffensive gaming company they have been branching out as of recent. Also they definitely helped this franchise come back if it wasn't for them, there would likely never have Bayonetta 2 or 3.

Simon and Richter: Hmm, as of late Konami has a nice relationship with Nintendo and Sora so maybe the'll stay. Along with Snake but who really knows?

Isabelle: I know the villager is the face of the franchise. (Because that's the player's avatar.) But if the new games and Mario Kart  are anything to go by, then she is definitely becoming a staple to the franchise.

The smash bros franchise despite it's cuts, always gets bigger, never smaller. (Due to new franchises and characters in existing franchises start appearing, older series getting some love, new ideas coming to light, and more powerful consoles getting released.) We may have cuts and limitations but the limits just keep getting lower with each game.

I almost forgot, Mewtwo between the release of Melee and Brawl did not get up to much in the Pokemon games and Anime. I guess we can thank what Lucario got up to between the release of Brawl and Smash 4 that got it returning in Smash 4, I at first thought Zoroark would appear instead. I guess Lucario and Mewtwo’s future as continuing to be Smash Bros. Fighters will probably depend on what they get up to in Gen VIII and IX, but I couldn’t agree more that they should come up with a Pokémon not from the latest gen at the time/a Pokémon that’s not a Starter to be a fighter again one of these years (Fully Evolved Starters of all 3 types as Smash Bros. fighters still would be very much appreciated to actually become a thing at some point in the franchise’s legacy though).

These days with Fire Emblem they’re more interested in Avatars, next in line could be Byleth. The only Fire Emblem Fighter that never would be dropped is Marth, the staple of the Fire Emblem Franchise, those more likely to be dropped are Lucina and Chrom for being full cloned fighters of Marth and Roy respectively.

Pokémon Trainer’s icon I selected since Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard don’t have their own. One of these years they could drop all of the Pokémon Trainers Pokémon entirely, I agree, but what would be nice to see someday is Fully Evolved Starters of all 3 types.

I put ROB in due to being an 8bit Ambassador who represents the NES Era of Gaming, none of them (except Mr. Game & Watch for the love of representing the Game & Watch in Smash Bros.) are likely to never be dropped.

One of these years I’ll admit it would be great to see a form of Link that plays entirely differently from Regular Link. No future for the Wii Fit series might as well mean no future for the Wii Fit Trainer in any game other, but I do see someone else from a Game Dedicated to Miis potentially becoming a Future Fighter.

I can’t really see anyone from Square Enix in future Installments if they’re going to keep leaving their characters stuck Japanese in all regions, having minute music and spirits represented, odd as Sauare Enix have helped Nintendo with their games in the past. Why Konami’s not close with Nintendo is indeed a mystery, but it’s pretty much what can explain Snake being dropped from Smash 4, but any game in the future that drops Snake may also drop the Belmonts as well.

It seems there is no limit to how many characters per franchise can be represented in each game. Whose been dropped before are Characters that don’t really play that much of a part in their franchise/gaming history and haven’t had much with them since the previous game, nor are gaming icons. The roster gets bigger and bigger each game, one of these years there could be a Gaming System that supports more then 100 Playable Characters, we don’t mind overall who gets dropped from Future Installments as long as it’s never any of these characters (those that do play important parts of their franchises/gaming history and that are gaming icons): www.deviantart.com/curioususer…

Isabelle is essentially the face of the Animal Crossing franchise now, so she's staying for sure.

Don’t be surprised if any of the New Characters in the Upcoming Animal Crossing game starts to become quite iconic/close to the Villager as well.

The face of Animal Crossing would actually be the Villager himself, much like Marth is to Fire Emblem, Ness is to Earthbound, Pikachu and Jigglypuff are to Pokemon, and Shulk is to Xenoblade.

I Doubt any of them will be Cut since all Ultimate Prior Newcomers (except Pokemon Trainer) have been in 1+ Game in a Row and I Doubt Incineroar will be Removed because he's a Special New Addition and I Doubt the Castlevania Reps will be Dropped because Castlevania was Very High in the Smash Bros Fighter Ballot and Isabelle since she also was in the Smash Bros Fighter Ballot

It’ll all depend on what these characters actually get up to in the coming years, and if any of them are gaming icons/those that play key parts in their franchises. I only think Toon Link was able to return in Smash 4 due to the Remastering of The Wind Zoe Waker a year prior. As for the Belmonts, they’re from Konami like Snake is, a development team not that close with Nintendo, so any game of the future that drops Snake like they did in Smash 4 might drop them as well. I admit though I’d love to see Greninja and Incineroar with a Fully Evolved Grass Starter in the future, Lucario and Mewtwo staying in the roster might as well all depend on what happens with them in the Pokemon franchise between now and the next installment. I don’t think having been in more then one Smash Bros. game can guarantee they’ll never be dropped from the roster, as proven by the Ice Climbers, but as long as these characters play a big part of their franchises/gaming history, that they are gaming icons and depending what they get up to in the coming years....

Well Ice Climbers had to be Dropped because of the 3DS Technical Difficulties which Sakurai was Reluctant in doing that
