It's a reference to the Batman movie in 1989.
Joker calls him a "freak" I believe.

Nice pic! I thought Keaton surpasses Bale. Here's my list of Batmen: Best to Worst:
Kevin Conroy
Michael Keaton
Christian Bale
Adam West
Val Kilmer
George Clooney

I just have to have a geek moment here,Adam West was the only actor to play Silver age Batman. His performance really was 100% comic book accurate to the comics and feel of Batman during the 50's and 60's. Everyone else played the modern Batman (post Frank Miller)
So in my mind West can very well be tied for first place.
For my money Keaton portrayed the modern Batman slightly better although Bale had the good fortune to be in better films.
Kilmer is next and "Batman Forever" is underrated. A good movie really.
Dont even count Clooney and his terrible film.
Conroy is the voice no doubt.

Exactly. Let's hope the next Batman is good. I personally think Jim Caviezel would be good.

He would be!
I like Joe Manganiello myself.Β But I don't want Ryan Gosling for the role.
Basically we need a big good lookin' guy who can be intense, confident and somewhat brooding.

SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to TheNeonSalmon [2013-08-21 01:04:20 +0000 UTC]
Exactly. I think both Caviezel and Manganiello fit that well. As for Gosling, I think he's a good actor, but not for Batman. Nor is he interested in comic book movies.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheNeonSalmon In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2013-08-21 03:01:02 +0000 UTC]
Yeah Gosling is a good actor but he is one of those guys that the movie studios want to put in every movie just so they can get the teen girl market. Gosling and Ryan Reynolds are seemingly up for every role. Poor Manganiello wanted to play Superman in "Man Of Steel" and he lost out to Cavill. He was also up to play Batman in the Nolan films and he lost that role too. So I think it would be cool to finally get him in.

Him and Reynolds are just about in anything, so it wouldn't surprise me if both were in Justice League. As for Manganiello, I think he'd be good, since he's a comic book fan. If he can't get Batman, though, I think he'd be good for Hawkman.

So do I. I think he gets a lot of undeserved hate, but he's a good actor and will do well in the role. That is, assuming that petition to get him out of the role won't go through.

TheNeonSalmon In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2013-08-24 03:20:03 +0000 UTC]
haha petition! That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I cant believe they are doing that. Affleck is very capable and he seems like a good guy.
Β Just to put things into perspective, the so called fans once said "Heath Ledger can't be The Joker. Heath Ledger was the gay guy from Brokeback Mountian!"
So if the fans had their way,Heath Ledger would have never been the Joker.
They judge before they see. Affleck is a big guy at 6'2" and well over 200 pounds. He's also a good looking guy with some charm. I am happy and this coming from a life long comic book reader. It's gonna be fine I think.

SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to TheNeonSalmon [2013-08-24 13:34:09 +0000 UTC]
It's always the same. It was the exact same thing with Michael Keaton as Batman, Ledger as the Joker, and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. No one thought they'd do a good job, but all three proved them wrong. If they give Ben a chance, he might do good. I can imagine the same thing if they announced Jim Carrey as the Joker.

There was a slight rumor that he could appear in Batman/Superman. Don't know if it's true or not. As for Batman's villains appearing in that film, I think it's a Β safe bet that they'll do a Joker-Lex Luthor team up. At least I hope so.

TheNeonSalmon In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2013-08-26 04:20:23 +0000 UTC]
Either of them would be very good I'd say. Cranston though coming off the success of "Breaking Bad" would be a great marketing move.

SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to TheNeonSalmon [2013-08-26 11:20:36 +0000 UTC]
True. But I think if it were to go to Cranston to a lot of people it would just be Walter White/Heisenburg in a Batman/Superman movie. That's kind of the reason I'm rooting for Strong.

SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to TheNeonSalmon [2013-08-27 01:24:21 +0000 UTC]
Right. As for the Joker, I hope he dose appear in the film, and, I do catch flak for this, but I think Jim Carrey would be a good choice. I know he's a comedian in most of his films, but he's done serious and creepy roles too.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheNeonSalmon In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2013-08-27 04:29:40 +0000 UTC]
You're absolutely right. I can see Jim Carrey as The Joker. Years ago British actor Paul Bettany was rumored for the part and I wouldnt be against that either.
There will be an outrage though whoever it is.Β I mean with the way they're treating Affleck, you would think he killed Christ or something! Sick shit.

As do I. After Michael Caine, I can imagine it's hard to cast Alfred. I considered Doug Bradley, Christopher Walken or Jeremy Irons, but Dalton is a great choice. As for Robin, I heard a small rumor saying he could be in the film, but it's not confirmed.

From what I've heard. I just hope they don't go The Dark Knight Returns route and turn it into a Batman vs. Superman movie. I'm okay with them starting out as enemies, and becoming allies later, but not enemies through out the whole movie.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheNeonSalmon In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2013-09-03 03:53:59 +0000 UTC]
Β I agree. Batman and Superman are different people but they are both heroes for the same reason. They are both good guys. How would it look if the 2 best superheroes are constantly smashing each other? For that reason the only time Superman vs Batman worked well was in the Frank Miller story. But even in "The Dark knight Returns"Β Superman & Batman weren't really enemies. They were friends who sort of lost respect for each other.
π: 0 β©: 1
SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to TheNeonSalmon [2013-09-03 22:04:18 +0000 UTC]
Well, from what I've been getting, it seems that's how it'll play out. The plot might be that the two don't trust each other at first and start out as rivals, but become allies to fight whatever villain is in it, which from the looks of things is Lex.

TheNeonSalmon In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2013-09-04 03:23:00 +0000 UTC]

π: 0 β©: 1
SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to TheNeonSalmon [2013-09-04 11:01:22 +0000 UTC]
It would, and this coming from someone who likes vs. movies like Freddy vs. Jason and Alien vs. Predator. But it could be worse I guess. They could go with that scrapped Batman vs. Superman script.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheNeonSalmon In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2013-09-04 20:17:14 +0000 UTC]
Β Don't get me wrong, the "VS" thing works well for monsters. Freddy Vs Jason was awesome! It was ridiculous and over the top but it was basically 2 evil monsters fighting each other. I loved it.
Β Superman and Batman are both heroes. There is no way 2 good guys who are supposed to be smart can fight each other for 2 hours.
There are tons of things they can do with this film. Just keep Tim Burton and Jon Peters away from it. No giant Spiders in the final act! lol
π: 0 β©: 1
SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to TheNeonSalmon [2013-09-05 00:20:25 +0000 UTC]
Exactly. With monsters, you expect them to fight. With heroes, it's different. Β If it were the Hulk I could understand, but not Batman and Superman. As for Peters/Burton, agreed. I liked Burton's Batman films, but he needs to stay away from Superman.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheNeonSalmon In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2013-09-05 01:07:11 +0000 UTC]
Β Absolutely. Burton/Keaton did well with Batman. But some of the ideas that Burton and psycho producer Jon Peters had for Superman were quite frankly disturbing.
Β I think the studio owes us money for all these great ideas
