WHEW! This was an involved picture. I don't think I've ever painted such a detailed background before. >_< I hope you enjoy it!EDIT: I added whiskers on the cougar. Oops! ^^

It might be because I spent my childhood drawing cats over and over again. I only got into people drawing later.

That could very well be why. I used to draw fish and animals a lot when I was younger, though in a really bad, cartoony style. Eventually Sonic got me drawing "anthros" and then I eventually started drawing humans more. My humans were baaaad.

The background is very nice. I gotta say that the angle you drew your cat-guy is off a bit. His legs, at that angle, make it look like he has ridiculously thick hips/upper legs. If you had elected to show a little less of his upper legs poking from behind his calves, it would have come out a bit better.
I love the expression on the cougar's face. The eyes are particularly nice and she looks like she's smiling.

I had thought about that, but I was thinking about how large my cat's bottom is when he sits like that. I wanted him to look like he could jump like a real cougar.

Same here! Though not usually in the city. I'm fascinated by cougars. I think it's amazing that they live so close to people in Canada and parts of the States yet there's so few attacks.
