Description

Ace's paws pounded against the snow covered feild as the warmth of the sun slowly faded as it sank in the evening sky. Iinkah and Ace had set out early that December morning, a fresh layer of snow and frost blanketing the earth. Their task was to cross over three hundred miles of Alaskan wilderness, and they were a bottle of emotions. Scared, nervous, excited, but they were nothing if not determined. By midday they had left the original area and into the open barrens of snow where large heards of caribou grunted and scattered about to clear the way of Ace's path. Ace didn't even hesitate or whimper as he passed hundreds of caribou, since he would have to hunt for his own food later tonight, it wasn't really on his mind right now since the sun was setting. He just wanted to get across the feild and into the thicker woods where Iinkah could set up a safe camp for the night, where they would be out of sight. They had five long days ahead of them, and they were determined to make their destination in time. 189 words.
