This really does highlight the revolting hypocrisy of Tumblr cartoon fandoms. Draw Robot Jones, a character who already suffers from a dire lack of accurate representation, doing or even being things wildly out of character for him? Nobody bats an eye, for male characters are not actually characters on Tumblr, they are playthings for the amusement of deranged fangirls. Draw Steven Universe's dead mom with a little less meat on her bones, however, and people will literally want you dead.
