Noticeable feature(s): His darker pelt is from his father while his eyes are from his mother. He later obtains a scar on his eye from Zira.

"Kovu hardly remembers his true and biological parents, only seeing Zira's face if he was asked about his parents. He doesn't even remember his littermate, a sister, named Kakena. His true parents, being rogues, joined the Outlanders after they had been banished to the Outlands. Both parents died (Father being killed by revengeful hyenas and the mother dying from a broken heart from losing her mate) and Zira was able to take the cub as her own, as his appearance was very similar to the one she believed was the true king of the Pridelands, Scar. And hence, gives the cub a name to represent the destiny she would mold him for. Kovu himself, as a cub, was just as adventurous and curious as any cub. One fateful day, he meets Kiara, the Princess of the Pridelands. Both hit it off well until both parents take them away and separate them. From there, Kovu is trained relentlessly, until he adopts the mannerisms and destiny Zira thrusts upon him. As a young adult, Kovu saves Kiara from a fire, caused by his adoptive siblings, in order to win Simba's favor and allow him to join the pride under judgement, so he will be able to carry out the plans his mother had in mind. However, each attempt to end Simba always gets stopped, usually unintentionally, by Kiara, who wants to know Kovu more and the darker male gives in. However, as he spends time with the Princess and days pass, he slowly falls for her charm and has second thoughts about carrying out his mother's plans. After being banished for being accused of attempted murder on Simba by supposedly leading him to an ambush by the Outlanders, Kiara flees and reunites with Kovu. Both put an end to a war between the prides, but Zira ends up committing suicide over being helped by Kiara. Kovu does mourn the loss, only due to her being the only mother he had ever known. As for Kovu, he under goes years of work and "therapy" to make himself somewhat more stable and maturing slightly. He and Kiara also bond more and get to know each other, before he becomes Kiara's mate and king consort. Together, he and Kiara have four cubs, and Kovu takes his next big step in life: Being a father and a ruler."

Fuck, fuck, FUCK his damn mane. X'D Drawing it was a massive pain and took too many references, and yet, still not happy with it. But close enough, dammit!

As for those who may go, "Why is he a king consort and not a real king?" Its simple, he's not a Prince and carries no royal blood in his veins (Plus, he wasn't betrothed to Kiara). Therefore, since Kiara is a legit Princess and heiress to the throne, Kovu's title would be "king consort" since he was married into royalty, rather than being born into it. He would still be a ruler but in the end, Kiara would get the final say in everything. However, I can see Kiara being reasonable and getting Kovu's word in as well, since in her eyes, they both rule the lands together and would let him give his thoughts on matters before going through with things. In this way, Kovu gets some power but not as fully as Kiara. Or, just how I see it in my HC.
