I wanted to adapt a scene from The Penumbra Podcast! This is one of my favorite moments from the whole series. [Here's the time code ] for the scene, but like—don't listen for more than a minute or so if you haven't heard the rest of the podcast! Unless you wanna' be spoiled or somethin'...

My friend Mel took me to his cabin last summer and said, "Natalie, I gotta' play you this podcast." And I gave him the okay and he said "All right; which do you want to start with—the depressed nonbinary detective on Mars or the knight who's engaged to a woman but falls in love with a lizard?" and I was like,

".......Come again?"

That's all to say I went through all the Case Files of Juno Steel episodes like "OH WORM!!"
Mel told me to call him when "the worst thing happens." And I was like, "How the hell will I know when the worst thing happens?!" And he said, "Oh.......oh you'll know."

And I did. I did know, and I called him up, and I yelled at his voicemail for like five minutes.

THEN after I'd caught up on Juno I went through the Second Citadel episodes (which are also a DELIGHT). It's the only fantasy story I've ever watched or read or listened to with an ace character! I was like, "OH SHIT DAT ME! OH SHIT!! O: " Gah. I'll stop going on about Penumbra. I JUST LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH.
