Description
This is an uncharacteristically professional shot of a collaboration piece I worked on. Matthew Parkinson made the blade, handle, and pommel. I made the guard, did the carving of the design, and the etching in the fuller. The customer wanted a piece based on the sword from the Legend of the Seeker series, we feel we've done a good job of taking many design cues from the original while still creating a distinct piece. Once everything was finished, we brought the piece to a professional photographer who specializes in blades and also submits the photos to blade publications as part of the fee.Both Matthew Parkinson and I (Michael Coffey) are members of Dragon's Breath Forge, where we and two of our other partners create custom works like this. Funny, I've been watching this for a long time. I couldn't afford it, but it's a beautiful piece! I'm a big fan of legend of the seeker so I like to look longingly at it every once and a while LOL
