I basically just wanted to make a speedpaint practice from a screenshot, but yeah, idk.Poor Merle, all he did was not cheating on his wife and looking to closely at an alien cocoon-egg-thing that fell from the sky... actually, he's the only character in the movie who's not an a-hole. I mean, what a dickish ending, right? Still, the monster's "final form" is really appealing to me for some reason and I think it's a great drunk/hungover/ 3:00 AM movie.

First off, I nearly hacked a lung from laughing when I read the word, "Merle" on your explanation part; Not many people make that connection!!! Kudos!!
Secondly; I totally agree with your statement. He wasn't doing stuff to be all-over evil, it was just' "According to his nature". That face he made at Stella right before he *insert spoiler info here* at the end of the movie, always makes me sad

As for the "your nature" part, the way I got it, this line was addressed to the alien slug that was in control (though not entirely) of Merle. Because the little we managed to learn about Starla's husband was that killing was not in his nature. Starla addresses this whole line to the slug, to pacify it. The rest of Merle's concious was probably just happy to see her (again - SAD ;_; ) But that might just be my interpretation.
And that sheriff guy?! Seriously?!?! As I said, this whole town was made of a-holes. I like the 'beauty and the beast' mockery though - like, the beast is always madly and blindly in love, but noone, including 'the beauty' gives a crap because it's the beast. It's not as silly as it seems, this movie.

I wanted to paint them much less saturated, but then I checked the actual movie and their eyes are like, crazy blue in this scene.
