Description
In this case, this is a V.T.O.L. remotely-piloted gunship drone. It can de launched vertically under the traction power of his three rotary wings, in motion by the thrust of tip-mounted ramjets.
A remote pilot can lead the air vehicle against his intended target using a basic TV camera in the nose and a radio link. The three yellow moveable surfaces allow the remote pilot to steer the machine during flight.
The four 30mm guns with 180 rpg is judged enough to shot-down a large bomber flying near the stratosphere.
A gas generator device is used to start the rotor movement, up to the point in that rotation speed is enough to lit the fuel injected inside each ramjet and sustain combustion. From this moment on, spin rise quickly and the lift-off can be done by increase the angle of attack of the wings.
After depletion of ammunition and / or fuel exhaustation, the vehicle can be returned to ground level automatically by autorrotation, landing vertically thanks to his ring foot.
If all goes well, the drone can be ready to flight in minuts.
There is an automatic version that can dispense of the pilot, being capable to steer and lock-on to a target bomber based in the noise of his engines (very different to the high-pitch sound of the ramjets).
