In a world where magic and wonder has been fading for centuries now, Leryta Sembrich is one of the few remaining magical creatures walking among the people. As a fairy born in 1752 somewhere west of what is now modern-day Manchester, Lery, like most fae-kind, keeps to herself, rarely showing herself to mankind and preferring to play tricks from the sidelines.

Very early on in her life, she discovered her magical talents pertaining to size-altering, though she did also learn traditional fairy magic that allowed her to hide herself from human eyes. A mischievous, selfish creature by heart, Lery immediately went about using these newfound powers for less than noble ends, being responsible for a string of disappearances as well as blatant invasions of people's privacy... and their bodies. If there was anything she loved more in life, it was playing around with the mortal races, at times by shrinking them and taking them home to the fairy kingdom to toy with them, at other times by reducing her own size and invading whatever orifice she pleased. Nothing was safe from her in the Manchester area, and beyond as she started traveling, first around Britain and later the world by hitching rides on travelers or tourists.

In the nearly 300 years she's lived, she's seen just about every corner of the world, but not every corner of its people and races, which she is infinitely more interested in. As such, if someone were to seek her out, their best shot would be public areas, like restaurants, malls, or even public transport. However, doing so would be ill advised as she enjoys staying unknown to the greater populace and will likely not hesitate to shrink whoever is trying to expose her and take them home to add to her ever-growing collection of tiny people.

Speaking of those shrunken individuals she keeps at home, she generally keeps them in little self-sustaining ecosystems in jars around her house. It's a habit she picked up from the human world and something she actually enjoys doing quite a lot, especially when it comes to watching little human societies build up inside. Occasionally, she'll even shrink herself down to enter one of these ecosystems, either to go on playful rampages through their cities or to flutter about her homegrown population at truly microscopic size.

Her specific interests make her a bit of a weirdo even to her fellow fae folk, but due to their general attitude, they don't mind her antics too much. Lery even has a couple friends she sometimes shares her tiny playthings with. To date, she hasn't quite found someone who shares her unique interests, but if she were to find one, she'd probably be quick to drag them along on whatever scheme she has planned for the day, willing or no.

She does have a reason for enjoying being tiny or shrinking people, too. Due to her intensely playful nature and general diminutive size, shrinking people is one of the few times she gets to push around someone smaller than herself, which is very satisfying for her. As for shrinking herself, she likes this due to one instance where she got caught up in the scenery underneath a house plant on the way to her latest scheme. This gave her some pause as she admired the view, realizing there was so much beauty to be found at a scale like this. Thus, she swore to see as much of it as she could and to this day still carries around a camera to record some of these vistas.

Because she loves messing around with humans, she eventually decided to try learning the human language. While most of her vocabulary is learned from the internet, her accent is definitively British, leading to her using American words but with a British accent. She also has a tendency to drag out her Rs since Fae speak uses that a lot, which is something she's aware of but generally tries not to care about when she's dealing with humans.

In the present day, Lery hasn't let up on her mischief one bit, though recently she discovered that the fairy kingdom she calls home right now is actually a nexus of multiple alternate worlds, something that brought a smirk to the fairy's face as she wondered what other worlds were out there for her to enjoy...
