So yea, canonically, before his "death", Corrupt!Gaster (Diaphtora) spoke in Aster's font, and then, when by being stuck in the void, he had to speak in ciphers, so Wingdings.
If Diaphtora could come back, he would be able to learn how to speak in Aster again, but he also will still use Wingdings.
And when he gets angry or excited, his voice becomes weirdly echoing and he speaks in Wingdings, or both fonts !
Also. Phtora is easily irritated when others do puns, but he enjoys doing puns himself. Just like Paps~
And finally, Diaphtora shows his true personality only in front of his sons.
