Fun fact: I actually drew this before the episode aired. I just couldn't finish touching up until now.

I listened to Castle of Shadows while working on this Friday, and today I listened to the Vampire Fruit Bat Song. You have no idea how much I love this latest song. It is so dark and gritty, especially compared to most of the show's songs, and wow, Applejack really dislikes those bats. Plus the end creeps me out. I mean, who expected Twilight of all ponies to join in that march? Actually, the whole chant and march in general. Poor Flutters. The music in the background was great too. It really set the mood, and certain notes really added 'oomph' to Applejack's lines. Plus, the way it weaves around... gah, I could go on forever!
In regards to that last shot of Fluttershy's fang, my theory is.......... that Fluttershy will be seen more than once eating an apple later in the season. Booyah!
I know that there are a lot of flaws in this, such as the moon being a bit odd, everything is dark and smudgy, etc. I have finally decided to accept the fact that I do in fact make mistakes, and that is okay. I don't need to be perfect in everything I do, and I am still learning.
Anyway, this was a whole lot of fun to draw, even if it took WAY to long. I have some commissions i need to take care of, but after that I will resume my Everfree Ghost series. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Oh wow. The details in this are amazing! I love how you've done her eyes and her wings too. The contrast of both sides is just awesome!
Her expression though... that really gets to me, like that of a tormented soul.
And I have to agree that the song with the chant must've been hard on Flutters and I can't help but think it was quite harsh of the group. Though admittedly, I did love that song, very powerful and nicely done.
Anyway, with that said, fantastic work! This is certainly a credit to the wonder that is Flutterbat.

The expression was actually where everything started. I wanted to somehow reflect her "two" minds that would be sharing one body, and that struggle against vampiric instincts. To do this, I drew a lot of inspiration from slifertheskydragon.deviantart.… , which is so amazing. I'm really glad that I was successful, and made an impact deeper than being startled. 
Mhm. It isn't necessarily the chant itself that startled me, however freaky it is, but the fact that both Twilight and Pinkie joined in such a serious, emotionally negative, and rather pointless action. Doesn't make the song less awesome though.
