Looks pretty good. How'd you get the tapered ends to the lines? From my experience with inkscape, I haven't found a method that I'm really happy with.

hmm, definitely one I'd like to know how to do better too!

How i do it now is use bΓ©zier curves to outline the tapering -- three nodes tend to do it best -- two at the normal width and one at the point. That makes a triangle (obviously) and then I tend to pull the lines out just a bit to make the line bulge towards the top (and taper towards the bottom).

Once I've got the shape, I'll go ahead and fill it and the stroke with the same color.

Not optimal, of course.

In general, I tend to just use rounded ends on the curve and make sure that nodes are placed well.

If you know a better way, let me know!

Yeah, that's about what I end up doing. Or just going over all the lines in GIMP or something after I've exported it as a raster image. The Pencil tool's Shape option kind of works, but doesn't give a ton of fine control, and makes the entire line a given shape.

I know there's some method involving Path>Path Effect Editor>Pattern Along Path that supposed lets you modify the line based on an arbitrary other shape you've created. But it seemed to be a tad convoluted and I haven't experimented with as much as I should have.
