Well, I've seen this going around, and I thought as a good idea to do one of my own. Some of the influences are pretty obvious after seeing my work, and other seems not so, but they're definitely there, as a constant inspiration or in the early stage of development of my style.Off course there's a lot more, but is impossible to put them all in such limited space...
Btw, the 'sci-fi' and 'horror' topics are CLASSICS, off course

WOW, great influences. I know and like mostly of these artists. Corben, Vallejo and Frazetta are maybe the greatest Fantasy Artists ever. Wrightson is master of Dark Art, Moebius one of my favorite Comic Artist, Serpieri has a great work too. I have l lot of comic books from him. Kirby created also the american BIG JIM covers for the P.A.C.K. series from MATTEL (action figures - see my website). And Bisley is also amazing sometimes.
Last but not least Juan Gimenez is actually (and in the last 20 years) maybe the best comic artist. I know his short Sci-Fi Stories, the Meta Barons and some of his other work, especially his new Fantasy series.

The name is 'Night Winds', is the cover for the book of the same name by Karl Edward Wagner

That Frazetta pic must have been used as a reference for the Amiga game 'Gods'.

The artists I'm not familiar with are Gimenez, Wrightson, Moebius, Elvgren, Charest, Corben, Stevens, and Serpieri. Struzan, I might only be familiar with from the Indiana Jones work.

Thanks for the links. Looking through all of these artists, I realized that I have indeed seen some of Berni Wrightson, Moebius, and Richard Corben's work before. They're all excellent, and checking out some of their work has been interesting.

Well, I knew the works of Caldwell very late, but I couldn't name him as a direct influence. Anyway he's a terrific artist

It's probably just me. It's funny what people see in our art, isn't it? I've had a few people say they see Robert Crumb in mine but I don't get that at all, although he is a great artist, of course.
