Description
An Overlander scientist from Megapolis, Nate worked with the man who would go on to become Doctor Ivo Robotnik, which landed him in trouble when they used a Power Ring to test a prototype for a weapon that eventually became the Ultimate Annihilator. Nate was exiled and eventually met the Acorn Family, becoming a member of their court. However, due to the machinations of Ixis Naugus during the Great War, Nate left Mobotropolis and eventually settled in the Southern Tundra of Mobius where he befriended Eddie the Yeti.

Years later, he would meet Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles Tails Prower during a battle with Ixis Naugus, during the battle, he would befriend Sonic and, following Naugus' defeat and Eddie's unfortunate demise, would return to Mobotropolis just before Robo Robotnik, an alternate universe version of the now dead Robotnik Prime, took over the city. In the aftermath of the new Doctor Eggman's takeover, Nate and almost everyone who lived in the city retreated to Knothole Village.

However, fate took an unfortunate turn during an encounter with Eggman in Robotropolis when the doctor roboticized Nate along with many other Overlanders whom Eggman had manipulated. Not long after, the city of Station Square launched a nuclear strike against Robotropolis and, among those still in the city when the missile hit, the roboticized Nate Morrigan met his demise and thus ended the life of a brilliant scientist whose many works often benefited Mobian-kind.

His legacy lives on, but death is not always the end. By one account, it is rumored that Nate survived and was eventually deroboticized by the Bem, wandering Mobius with no memory of his prior life and may have joined up with a team of rogue robots. But this story may never come to pass.
