Barry and his alternate 2013 self attempted to change the outcome of the battle with Zod and save Supergirl, but soon, it was Barry Prime who realized there was no way they could change things they way they wanted to even as his alternate self continued to try and fix it all. The dark figure who'd attacked Barry way earlier reappeared and was revealed to be an older version of Alternate Barry.
