I had a wooden house once.....then it took a lightning bolt to the roof. No more of it left now. I use bricks from now on!. It is nice to see another mansioneer. Don't see too many of them nowadays. Come on over for a cuppa?

Perhaps a bit of an exercise like this could help:
Start off with a small symmetrical build, and continue adding on to it keeping it symmetrical, putting blocks diagonally, spacing them evenly, double checking every now and then as you progress.
