You maintained a light touch on a subject which is easy to go heavy on...just enough detail and shading to make them look alive, and to give a good deal of depth. The background around the sketch is distracting, though.
And yeah, trees are tedious to draw.

Nice sketch...I can appreciate this, I know how hard it is to draw trees correctly and how tiresome it can be! I like the quick light style of this...all the details are just right, this would look great perhaps with a wash of water colour.
