Description
besides publicists and manager and agents ...i don't hang out with chimps that much.
kidding.
i got to spend a few hours with a couple chimps. i'm still amazed at how much they are like us.
odd.
watching this particular chimp stick his finger in andy dick's ear and then smelling it ...
odd.
he understood english.
the chimp.
andy, too.
i think, at least.
the "wrangler" as those people whom "handle" animal talent are called was probably one of the strangest people i've met.
the chimp seemed more sane.
in fact, i think he was.
"ranger rick," i swear that's what he called himself, got pissy when his charge was called a monkey.
whatever.
i know there's a difference.
what was cool -- if the story is true and in hollywood that's not usually the case -- was that this chimp was an "air force rescue." again, so they said.
he liked skittles.
and earrings.
odd.
anyway ... i made a pretty cool head shot and thought i'd share. he had some of the most caring eyes. i thought i caught his gaze in a pretty cool moment.

I've been into a dicipline called parkour recently which it has to be said explores a lot of the missing spaces between us and our cousins.
Monkeys are facinating to watch.
People Laughing seems quite a prehistoric thing to do ... maybe clapping too?

The whole look in his eyes says, "I'm no silly chimp, Take a closer look in the mirror and you will still see me for I am you" Great shot.

Heh, I just took a similar picture of a friend of mine. Eerily similar infact. Didn't post it, he hates having his picture taken, and that wasn't the purpose of the shoot. But monkeys none the less. I want a monkey... maybe one of those tiny cut ones. It can live in my camera bag...

great idea to increase the DOF. wonderful capture.
it was a score to get the opportunity to take this from such a close point of view. most people only get zoo photos and would struggle to get anything this quality.
