So, this was a completely new thing and kind of an experiment for me. I have never before embroidered genuine leather (I have worked with faux leather though). It definitely required a different approach because you don't want it to tear or the embroidery to 'pop out' of the leather. The needle leaves holes that you can't undo. So I was surprised how well these turned out!
I want to make a whole lot of keychains like these for Abunaicon 2016 with all kinds of different anime, game and other images. I have a lot of these pattern ready for use already but suggestions are always welcome c:Β Some are flat and some are puffy and squishy c: The Cloud Strife ones are a little bigger but the material used for those is much thinner and requires a delicate hand. Those with white embroidery will glow in the dark.
All leather used for my crafts are renmants and scraps from livestock tanneries. The hide would be thrown away otherwise so I'm just putting them to good use.

I plan on stocking up on more leather (more color variation) and will make a selection once I have another batch made. What I won't be bringing to Abunaicon will be available in my shop. Though in your case, you don't have to purchase one through my shop

Once exposed to UV light or any artificial light it will glow by itself. You can enhance the glow by charging the patch with blacklight for an extra long and strong effect. The spool of thread I have standing on my desk pretty much glows all night because after each round of use it's exposed to the bright lighting of my embroidery machine XD
