For the Temple of Sound: Something avoided prompt. I also attempted to draw this in the style of Starbound for the Let's Play temple challenge and..my goodness. It was extremely difficult lol. I ended up re-sketching it several times before getting to this.

also feels bad for 3988, this temple is just a Very Bad Time for it all around lmao

..I'm not sure if this needs a mature rating? let me know if I should add one

As the spirit wades through clouded, reddish waters, a new emotion cuts through the haze of shock that was set upon it from the previous chamber . It shudders violently at the sensation of inexplicable apprehension crawling up its spine on sharp, cold feet; it is a slow, but sinister numbness that creeps up its limbs.

It does not want to be here. As it turns around to leave, it realizes that the entrance has disappeared, much to its great dismay.

The chamber it currently resides in is eerily silent for a wing of the Temple of Sound. Rivers of red water flow across vast, snowy plains and the sky churns with the mysterious, mystical atmosphere of the conservatory. Very hesitantly, it takes a step forward.

It hears a low, keening noise, one that grows louder and louder with each passing second until it is face to face with the source: a shadowy, amorphous form of vague faces, each one pushing to get to the surface of the mass they are embedded in. It does not know who they are, but it feels a strange sense of familiarity. Perhaps in another life, it could have recognized these faces. Now, they are merely warped distortions of its shattered memory, corroded from its transformation.

They are screaming.
