Description
tfw you shade a drawing, but it looks better flat.I noticed espeon's Ultra Moon pokedex entry says its psychic power builds up in its forehead jewel as its in the sunlight, so I thought of a cat sunbathing.
Pokemon belongs to Nintendo
To Improvement-Club : Someone please help me with the colors. I wanted a warm color scheme, but when it came to shading I just couldn't get the right colors to give this a warm feeling. I have the feeling even as a flat colored piece it could be warmer.

Hello fellow Improvement Club memeber! *waves*
A quick observation on the color issue: I think the main problem is how the base colors are currently in their local color. So whatever warm color you try to shade in will look awkward.
One solution: Shade as normal, add a new layer, flood fill it with warm color of choice, fiddle with layer blend modes and opacity to your liking.
Second solution: Adjust the base colors to fit the warm color scheme you want. Shade away (with non-local colors, of course).
Third solution that I just now realize is probably the easiest but didn't occur to me cause I never do it for some reason: Shade as normal. Fiddle with color balance. Done. >_<
Hope that provides some insight~ (Sorry for the lack of specific examples. I struggle with colors too.)

Thanks, those do sound helpful. I'll play around with the art program a bit more keeping these in mind and see how it goes.
