this is a tribute to my beloved Lappes, my black lab who became 19(!) years old and passed away last year in april. it was really a challenge for me with all the fur,...but i am absolutely happy with the final result!all progressions can be seen here:[link]
background is not vectorized, all the rest=100% vector and 100% patience...drawn with adobe indesign
EDIT: i wondered why sooo many members added my puppy to their favourites,...then a nice girl explained the DD stuff to me,...normally i answer all messages and thank all persons ,...in this case, please don't be disappointed if i don't do so,...there were too many at all...

When I saw the thumbnail, I was sure it was a photo... when I read vexel, I had to come for a closer look! This is amazing; it feels like that soft, velverty fur of a lab puppy, which is quite a feat for a drawing with this technique. Beautiful!

I'm sorry about your dog. I had a cat who lived to be seventeen, who I grew up with from daycare to college. When it was time to say goodbye, I was so heartbroken, it was almost like losing a member of the family At least you can rest well knowing he's in a better place and is watching over you from up there.

wow had i not read the dd i wouldn't have know it was a vexel. the fur is perfection although the collar sorta gives it away that it's a vexel. It's amazing!

Hm I know you write a fur was really challenge, but final result look like image that generate adobe illustrator live trace...with good settings for five minutes. I am sorry, dont like. But congratz on DD
