Description

Here we have the side characters of The Powerpuff Girls: Rebirth

Professor Tom Utonium

A quirky but level-headed scientist and the widowed father of the Powerpuff Girls, Professor Tom Utonium was the one accidentally responsible for the girl’s superpowers. Utonium is a brilliant man of science with noble ambitions to help the city of Townsville by creating a special super serum, but the accidental inclusion of Chemical X caused an explosion which granted his three daughters superhuman abilities. Utonium is shown to be a very loving and caring father to the girls, and is always concerned about their well being as people and heroes. Saddened by the passing of his wife who died of a horrible illness, he sees the girls and his pet chimpanzee Jojo as the only family he has left and wants to keep them safe at all costs.

Voice: Tom Kane

Notes:

    ·         In this series, the Professor is revealed to have had a wife named Emily, who was the girl’s mother, who is mentioned to have passed away because of a horrible illness, which made Utonium and the girls very sad.

    ·         This iteration of Utonium also deeply cares not only for his three daughters, but also Jojo, his pet chimpanzee, and tries his best to try to help reform Jojo back to his old self when he turns evil.

Ms. Sandra Keane

Ms. Keane is the main homeroom teacher to the Powerpuff Girls at Pokey Oaks Middle School. She is shown to be a very smart and caring woman who values the education and well-being of all of her students. Initially freaked out by the girl’s new powers, she later begins to warm up to the girls and supports them as heroes after seeing them in battle.

Voice: Jennifer Hale

The Mayor of Townsville

The main government authority figure in the city of Townsville, the Mayor is quite the eccentric fellow. While he takes his job as the city mayor very seriously as he is the one who calls the girls when trouble is afoot (the way the girls are contacted is through hotline watches on their wrists), the Mayor is mainly a weird and sometimes silly man who is easily quick to freaking out under pressure and has an obsession with pickles.

Voice: Tom Kenny

Notes:

    ·         The mayor is 3 feet taller than his original counterpart, and sports a design similar to Rich Uncle Pennybags from the game, Monopoly.

    ·         Like the mayor from Powerpuff Girls Z, this version of the mayor is shown to be more competent than his original counterpart.

Ms. Sara Bellum

A very smart, strong and independent woman at heart, Ms. Bellum is the mayor’s most reliable and responsible assistant. Seen as a true role model and a motherly figure to the girls, she would help aid the girls in need or give the girls strong advice that would help them in the long run of things. Ms. Bellum is also extremely important to the Mayor as she is always there to ensure that the mayor stays in line of everything, in spite of his eccentric antics.

Voice: Jennifer Martin

Notes:

    ·         While her face is seen, half of it is covered up by her hair, similar to the design of the Super Mario character, Rosalina.

Mitch Mitchelson

One of the students at the girl’s homeroom, Mitch is known by his peers as a mischievous troublemaker. Mitch enjoys most of his free time pulling pranks on his peers, openly bragging about his ego, and pestering nerdy kids. Mitch is best friends with Buttercup who sometimes partakes in his pranking shenanigans. However, Mitch would later develop and grow from a troublemaking jerk to more of an honest person who does wise cracks once in a while, and cheers for the girls along with the citizens.

Voice: Tom Kenny

Notes:

    ·         Mitch’s development from a bully to a respectable person is very similar to Flash Thompson in The Spectacular Spider-Man series.

Robin Snyder

Robin is the next door neighbor to the girls and is commonly seen as one of their best friends and fans when she learns of their superpowers.

Voice: Lacey Chabert

Mikey

Based on the character Mike Believe, Mikey begins as a shy adolescent who wasn’t very popular with his peers. When he is befriended by an evil invisible creature named Patches, he is blackmailed and forced to do bad things like bullying and humiliating his peers by the sinister entity. When the girls manage to help Mikey defeat Patches, he feels regret for trusting Patches without knowing of his true nature and the girls manage to forgive and help him make real friends. Since then, Mikey has joined the school in praising the girls as heroes, and he even goes out to the skate park with Bubbles on a date for Valentine’s day, when they learn to have a lot in common.

Voice: Sean Marquette

Trivia:

    ·         In reference to Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, another cartoon created by Craig McCracken, Mikey is voiced by Sean Marquette, who voiced Mac, and Patches is voiced by Keith Ferguson, who voiced Bloo.
