Flapjack himself

An orphaned sailor boy with a good heart and a thrill for adventure who was adopted by a talking female whale named Bubbie, who recently lost her pod and calf to whalers and found Flapjack as a baby in a floating bed of seaweed. Flapjack would be raised by Bubbie, who he saw as a surrogate mother, and would grow up as a kid when he and Bubbie first befriends a washed up captain named Captain K'nuckles after saving him from drowning and being eaten by sharks. This prequel story would reveal that Flapjack's biological parents were sailors who were pillaged and taken prisoner by the notorious pirate Blackbeard and then executed. He would accompany his new friend Captain K'nuckles on the latter's journey to get back at Blackbeard.
