Description
An attempt to remaster the classic DLN# robot masters to look smoother and cleaner without overshooting the NES pallet. (With the addition of a Megagirl design, based off the Upon a Star OVA Armored Roll, because that's kinda the definitive Megagirl.)Naturally, some of them are based off the Wily Wars sprites, in terms of size and shading. Gutsman, in particular, derives from the Power Battles NeoGeo sprites. Out of the group, Gutsman and Elecman gave me the hardest time getting their shading right. I still don't think they're as good as I can get them, but I have them here to complete the classic set.
If I do end up making the Megaman RPG I'm theorizing about, I plan on making these the In-Battle sprites.
What do you think?Β

Looks Β great. This is to me a more fresher take on the 8 bit sprites.
I get personally tired of seeing the same 8bit sprites on the series on fan games at times..nice work man ^_^

Consider doing an 8 bit version ofΒ Time ManΒ and Oil Man which appeared in theΒ Mega Man Powered Up remastered version of Mega Man 1.

These are really nice, but I think they have too many shades for NES, unlike the originals.Β

"If I do end up making the Megaman RPG I'm theorizing about, I plan on making these the In-Battle sprites." I didn't like that in powerd up played as the orignal bosses(and those two wosses Time and Oil Man, sorry there just not my type) but playing them in an RPG may be diferent I like it.

I just loooooooooooooooooooooooove Fireman's shading. I'm serious here, he looks great. As for the others, nothing much to say. It's like Wily Wars, but 8-bit and not 16-bits.Β
Keep it up! Can't wait for more

One critique - You gave Proto Man the wrong lower body type, he has only the belt.

Nice work here. Kinda reminds me of Wily Wars.
Also, are you gonna try Time Man and Oil Man? The former especially. Hes my favorite.

I plan on doing them eventually. I just don't want to take someone else's homemade sprites and remaster them, it doesn't seem honest.

Awesome! ^^ Think you could make DLN-00A and DLN-00B (Time Man and Oil Man) too? Preferably the Archie Comic version of Oilman.
Also, between you and me...I have this...issue. I tend not to favorite works of the MM1 Robot Masters unless they include Time Man and Oil Man. >< I don't know why...but it just doesn't feel complete without them. D: Also, the Mega Man Archie Comics gave Time Man and Oil Man model numbers. One is DLN-00A and the other is DLN-00B. I think you could ask my friend ApplesRockXP which one is which, or look in The Robot Master Museum collection in his gallery (he's got them labeled in there). I think that Time Man and Archie's Oil Man are awesome, I don't get why people hate them so much.
Archie's Oil Man is the best version of the character, if you ask me...
Also, I'm revamping some Mega Man 1 mugshots from Wily Wars to be in the 8-bit Classic style. But I need to change the palette from the Wily Wars sprites to the NES sprites (I'm also re-shading them, reducing the amount of colors, and altering some of the details.
I'm also going to include a scratch-sprited Archie Oil Man mugshot and a scratch-sprited Time Man mugshot. I already have Archie Oil Man's mugshot completed.
Lastly, I plan on making custom mugshot borders (those things that flash and light up on the Stage Select screen in Mega Man games). I have ideas on what my custom mugshot border will look like.

Oh wow, these are really neat. I quite like all the little changes you made to their poses, and the shading is great. I really like how a lot of these turned out. Very snazzy stuff!
I would recommend, though, that if these are supposed to be "in-battle" sprites, you take another look at some of these poses. Gutsman looks totally prepped and ready for a fight, and it just screams "yeah, I can take anybody on." But Cutman, conversely, seems a little bit... stale. His arms are hanging loosely at his side, his legs are wide apart (which, to be fair, is usual for Megaman sprites, but my point is that they aren't bent or tensed up), and overall he just doesn't give off the vibe of "Bring on the battle!" or, better yet, "I'M KUNG FU CUTMAN, HEEYAH!"
Now, of course I could be wrong, especially given that I've not seen the battle system these would go into, but I thought I'd shoot my thoughts out for you to consider. Keep up the good work!

Please, do it. I'd also suggest a hack of Mega Man 1 to change into this sprite style.
