This shot was taken of the finale to the Australian Avalon Airshow 2003 featuring two F-111's in a simulated bombing over the runway. It was hard to capture at the right moment, I missed it on the first day but got it the second. Yay =]Related content

lol, did you know that the bombs are fake? lol, no bombs... just alot of gas and explosives they put down before the show starts... Thats what all airshows do... Good job with the picture by the way!

Scary? It was magnificent at the time. The explosion filled the whole runway and the heat just hits you all over like a gust of hot wind. Mind you, I wouldn't like to be seeing it unless it was a simulation in a perfectly controlled environment

yeahhhhh... big one! would like to see such airshows live, but "the day after rammstein" in germany this kind of event is not that accepted it could be....

Yeh it was awesome. It was at the start of the year but I will be uploaded some more photos from back then. They really are impressive the new jets, so much power they just cruise around to the runway and point for the sky - literally. The pic I will submit in a few days shows that perfectly
