love prototype, just wish they kept alex as the protagonist for p2, like just use pariah mentioned in p1 as the villian, do a metroid have alex regress his powers and then fight your way back to the top of the food chain, why radical why?

yep i hear you, i still play it but i use the alex mercer skin, it makes me feel better. i just imagine its mercer fighting against his evil inner nature, his humanity vs the virus kind of thing

hmm, everything would be better than Heller, although downgrading the character to the poseur brainless villain level did him no good... maybe he really needed not the pathologist, but psycho-pathologist to help him deal with all his 'thinking he's Alex Mercer who thinks he's a virus who thinks he's Alex Mercer' identity crisis. I'm no virologist, but I know biology good enough to know no virus would waste time on identity crisis, it's a thing for those with higher nervous function

no ordinary virus yes but its blacklight so loophole? and the identiy crisis would work if done well, anywho i hope they make a p3 with barry pepper as the original voice for alex again, no heller, i know they try and make him sympathetic with the whole dead family thing and making hm the lesser of what 50 different evils but i think they tried TOO hard with hellers character

yeah, all they need in P3 is to give us the right Alex back (and maybe allow him to brutally kill HellerΒ Β ) for the game to be successful again XD
Haven't played P2, but Heller annoys the hell outta me even in the cinematics - I don't think I can tolerate him all game long, especially knowing what he's up to doing. Hell, I'd even love to play as evil Alex getting NYZ and the world infected - it still would be a better game XD if it's not broken, don't fix it, if you manage to create a cool character people loved - don't touch him. ever.

at first i was okay with heller, but playing p2 again and again and hearing heller over and over, it lost the magic touch, p1 however i could play and never get tired of mercer screaming TAGGART YOU SUICIDAL MORON!!! the one thing i believe the developers got right was the shield mechanic in p2, in p1 some goddam hunter or rocket or tank would pop on screen outta nowhere and smack me away from another enemy i was focused on killing, nothing makes me angrier than a kill-block

I wish the first [PROTOTYPE] had come out around this time...
It would look so polished and beautiful and it would be FUCKING FANTASTIC.
Also it would mean P2 wouldn't exist (yet, or ever) and Alex's character development wouldn't have been fucked.

i just really hate what they did to alex
like, he was an anti-hero. that was his thing. he killed a shitton of people and murdered his way up for knowledge but like
he wasn't EVIL?? he wasn't a VILLAIN? he saved new york, he saved and cared deeply for his sister.
he went away from new york to travel and find himself... and at that point the comic and P2 killed it.
Another really stupid reason they made Alex bad in P2 is because "he was already so powerful what can we even do with a
character who basically has no weaknesses anymore." - UM, SO MANY FUCKING THINGS??? JUST BECAUSE A CHARACTER IS
REALLY STRONG DOESN'T MEAN YOU DO A COMPLETE 180 AND MAKE THEM A ONE-DIMENSIONAL SHIT-SHOW.
i am very passionate about this character and he could have been SO GOOD. P2 could've been about Alex meeting Pariah!

I do agree, and there's always a way to get things right - let's pretend he ate something bad the morning before P2
we've got plenty of games about ridiculously strong Mary- and Marty-Sues, someone really cool joining their ranks won't hurt...

And like, he wouldn't even be a sue. The only thing that really hits me how strong he is, and even then he does have weaknesses.
He isn't the easiest guy to be around, either...

It really is. I love Alex... he's one of my top favorite characters of anything ever.
He has issues, sure... like, a fuckton, but Human!Alex was a piece of utter GARBAGE whereas Virus!Alex is actually the better one.
More human... in a way.
