i wish they had made us learn earlier, when it would have been easier. I took 2 years of spanish, but thats it. I would love to learn Japanese, but that would be SO FREAKING HARD and it would take away the beauty of the language.

I'd like to learn Spanish too. Unfortunately, time problem again. In school, mostly our only option is english or german. Its rare if you can learn there anything else.

jr high (or middle school) 12-14ish
high school 14-18ish
then college for however many years you take to achieve whatever degree you need for your job. (4-8 years is typical)
exactly!!!no, its not an option till your around 12 unless your parents do it for you.
i think thats SOOO dumb. But when you are in elementry, you have about 21 students in your class, with the same teacher all day. So if /your/ student was going to learn a language, the whole darn class would have to learn too.
I guess they could do different teachers for every language or somthing, but we dont....so...
yeah if you know english well enough Spanish makes plenty sense.

Uni is similar, there is 3 level: Basic-qualification 3 years (if thats the right word), Master-qualification 2 years. and the last is PhD 3 years. So the minimum is 8 years, but it can be longer >.<"" Unfortunately, nowadays its hard to find a job in hungary, even with a good qualification.
Yupp, its dumb >.<"" 21 students? Nice, our number in elementary was 36 x33 Yupp, it would be good to teach a language for the class.
The translation of text... in FF VIII, it was written text. Not online, i had an english-hungarian dictionary, and i searched almost word by word. :,3 while i tried to deduct the meaning of the sentences.
