The flowers come from a custom variation in a hacked version of Apophysis I released recently. If you like them, you might enjoy downloading the version and playing with it

wow!those flowers are so cool, they look pretty metallic
are you going to make your own apophysis version and publish it on the internet so other can download and use it too? that would be truly awesume!

Sure, I'd be happy to share the couple of tweaks I've come up with so far. Let me do a little cleaning up, and I'll provide a link. Stay tuned

Perfectly stunning! I love it. Did you use the blob variation? Just curious. Wonderful work.

I generated this using my own variation that creates "flowers" with any number of solid "petals". I added an option to the variation, after I generated the first image with it, to poke a hole of any size in each petal, as we see here. I'd have to take a closer look at the blob variation to see if this is possible with it... it doesn't seem to be a one-stop operation with blob, the way it is with this custom "flower" variation, though

No, it's not, so that sounds awesome! Your variation causes beautiful results. I like the solid petals and the way the hole is shaped.
I get flowers using blob if I change the variables to:
Blob low: -1
Blob high: 1
Blob waves: Some low, even number
It's pretty fun, but not as solid as your flower variation. Good work!

Hmmm... so the flower variation might be of interest to folks then? I see NorweiganAngel wants a copy of Apo with the couple of tweaks I've come up with so far, so I'll do some cleanup and provide a link. I should warn that my version of Borland Developer Studio wasn't able to compile the inline assembly code, so my version will run slightly slower, on the non-asm code, until I figure out what's causing the problem

That would be great!
I know ~utak3r is developing a feature of apo that will allow you to plug in whatever variations you want into the official version...a plug-in feature. Yep, can't wait for that!

That's a great idea -- it would be nice to make it available through the scripting interface. Hmmm... interesting Yeessss... I'd really like to see a plug-in interface for variations, since that is a sweet, sweet spot for tweaking (in fact, it's what got me looking through the code in the first place). Well, until then... I'll have my version up in a day or so
