Description
Did you ever hear the Scottish folktale of the Dragon and the nine maidens?
Seems a lazy farmer from Dundee sent his eldest daughter out to fetch some water from the well. When she didn't come back he sent his next daughter, and so on until all seven of his children were all gone. So he had to go himself and he found a dragon had eaten them all. Martin the Blacksmith was engaged to one of the girls so he chased the Dragon and smashed it's heid in with his hammer.

What I love about this tale is their is the hero wasn't some knight or prince, or cunning little stable boy who outwitted a monster but just a big handy pissed off blacksmith.
