I could let out my obsessive mindset about MK in over 60 ways. But I felt this way would be one of the simplest and straight forward. Not too overwhelming and ambitious. Heads up, a lot of this is gonna be incredibly biased.
To start it all, I would trace all my personal nitpicks with the franchise here and there with would've wanted Reptile a 8th playable character in Mortal Kombat 1. I feel since he was limited to just a secret character, that's a big reason we don't see him as respected as literally everhone else from the original game. I think this would've helped push for mah boi to had been more respected from the beginning. I would have his background adjusted to how it would best be for most of us Reptile Fans, with him starting off serving Outworld, till like Kitana later on, he's motivated to switch to be by the side of Earthrealm.
Then for MK2, he'd be present at the Wushi Academy Celebration, when The Tarkatans attacked, and the champions were given the warning/proposal for the new tournament. Reptile would be fighting for Earthrealm, and an agreement with Raidan maybe being if he helped them at least, he'd request The Elded Gods to restore his race to some extent, like how in MK9, Raidan did a similar suggestion to Scorpion to restore his clan, if he did not kill Sub-Zero.
Reptile also could’ve helped with knowing much of the environment of Outworld, guide at a few points Earthrealm's Warriors, especially from traps. He also could've been a key voice in convincing Kitana to as well defect from Shao Kahn.
