Greetings. I come from a future where Carol Danvers (who now goes by Captain Marvel) is now Marvel's flagship heroine who they have been pushing...rather aggressively, to put it lightly. Most fans aren't too fond of her due to poor writing and not living up to the hype, but Carol Danvers is here to stay.

Eh, I'd say Carol's being written consistently across her solo title and Avengers right now. Sure, she could be written better, but it's fine for what it is. Then again, that's probably my ego talking since I have pretty big plans for Carol in my Avengers-Verse fics.

It's tough for heroines all over. DC's Birds of Prey will also bite the bullet this month. Proably the most successful female starring series outside of Wonder Woman and maybe Spider-Girl...(oh, and perhaps Witchblade).
Not sure what the problem is--either they can't get good people to write them or those of us who seem to like strong female protagonists are really just a small but vocal minority.
Then again, I've never been a huge Carol fan. Costume's sharp though.

Nobody buys comics at the newstand any more, certainly not kids these days, so they have to have adult "twist" stories I guess when canalizing their existing shrinking fanbases.

Kids can't buy them due to the massive backstory, how dark everything is and no real place to get them outside a bookstore. Rather just stick with manga myself so I'm not helping
