first attempt- www.deviantart.com/cyclone62/a…I tried again because I just wasn't happy with it, I got a new tablet (last one broke) and thought this would be a fun way to get used to it. I'll be working again on commissions this week.
About the redesigns-
A few people said that they thought his mother was a bear so I went with that, I based her of the bear avatar in sonic forces, I actually think she looks kinda cute. I simplified her design a bunch I think it is actually a lot more effective makes her look like an actually sonic character. I've nicknamed her Estelle as i've read somewhere that is what she is called in the credits of the French version but I can't confirm that.
For the father I went with a lumberjack, why? I honestly don't know, something about the original made me think lumberjack. I kept his design quite similar to the the original mostly just modifying his muzzle to look like a sonic character and giving him gloves. I kept him a mouse/rat because that is what I think he looks the most similar to. I read that the name he was given in the French credits was Bert so i'm going with that.

Sonic Underground is never consistent as to what the heck they're supposed to be.
I remember watching Underground on KidsCo.
Let's say Sonic was adopted by both Estelle&Bert and also Longclaw. But through some unfortunate circumstance, the second foster parent(s) take in Sonic after something happened to the first foster parent(s). But I'm still trying to work out who adopted Sonic first, especially with the recently released deleted scene that I'm sure will sprout headcanons.
Who do you think could adopt Sonic first? Estelle and Bert, or Longclaw?

died or were robotized fairly quickly in underground.

Yes, that's why I don't get much attention from the characters in that series, with the exception of Sonic, Sonia, Manic, Aleena, Chuck, Knuckles, Athair, Bartleby, Cyrus, Mindy, The Oracle of Delphius, Sleet and Dingo.
