I found out Knuckles had some concept art from the development of Sonic the hedgehog 3the fist one was just labeled "? rival" written out in Katakana static.wikia.nocookie.net/soni… seems to be a Hedgehog?
the next one labeled "black cat" static.wikia.nocookie.net/soni… could this be why Sonic's other Rival Blaze was a cat?
