1. Theow - A hybrid heraldic beast described by Pliny the elder believed to be a misidentified jackal
2. Ophiotaurus - from Greek mythology the creature is part bull and part serpent
3. allocamelus - head of a donkey, body of a camel
4. Shug monkey - A cross between a big rough-coated dog and a monkey with big shining eyes. Sometimes it would shuffle along on its hind legs and at other times it would whiz past on all fours
