Long ago, there was a legendary smith who forged a blade - curved, intricate and beautifully designed with passion poured into every strike of the hammer, the blade called Keris. Via alchemical and arcane mastery yet to be truly understood by the outside world, this smith gave life to the Keris along with the ability to transform into a humanoid state, upon which she was given the name 'Anya' and told of the great power she possessed.

The Keris has passed hands many times over the centuries, spending almost all of her time between those masters sleeping for years or decades at a time, with her most recent wielder being the last in quite some time. They left her in a beautiful cave, the Palace of the Sleeping Blade, resting in a stone box with naught but a handful of keepsakes and a familiar sense of isolation…

Trivia:
- Anya's design is based on that of a Townsperson from Sonic and the Black Knight, explaining her 'chibi' look compared to normal humans as well as her pointed ears and dark eyes. In a meta sense, she represents some kind of middle ground between the visuals of a townsperson and Merlina.

- Anya enjoys being sharpened, cleaned and polished, with Sonic likening such things to baths and having ones nails cut. It is unknown if that is actually how Anya perceives these things.
