Description
From Mercy of Prime by ~ridikill"Don't wanna rush you or anything Sari, but…go go go!" Bumblebee yelped.
Sari decided it was probably best not to look up and see what was panicking Bumblebee. She hooked the cable to the unconscious Backtrack and then set him upright. A pair of stabilizing wheels extended from his sides and kept him vertical.
.........(several paragraphs later)
Bumblebee was just becoming flushed with the thrill of a success escape when Starscream swooped after him, unleashing a storm of blaster fire. The Autobot increased his speed to previously untapped levels as Starscream drew nearer: there was a loud crash as either he or the Decepticon broke the sound barrier. Sari shrieked as Bumblebee's windows exploded inward.
It was a long way back to the fortress, and Bumblebee doubted that he was faster than Starscream.
=================================
This was created over a span of about 2 months. It shouldn't have but I just couldn't find the time for it as I've been really busy lately. As a note, I'm quite inexperienced with both the tablet and Photoshop and this is the first artwork I've completed using both in addition to some Flash. So this was pretty tricky to get used to. And I'm sure there are plenty of screw-ups. But hey, I had fun with this so I couldn't care less!
But I like how this turned out. And this was one of my favorite scenes from ~ridikill 's fanfiction "Mercy of Prime" where Bumblebee is chased by Starscream and either of them breaks the sound barrier. But here it looks like Bee did. And if I'm not mistaken, this is the first Sari I've drawn as well. Oh, and see that guy Bumblebee's towing? That's Backtrack and he's pretty much unconscious at the moment. And before you ask, that is NOT on planet Earth.
And people, from the depths of my shriveled little heart, I dearly ask for demand COMMENTS!!

I like the bursts of light to emphasize Bee's speed. Are all the little dots in the background supposed to be the rest of the Decepticon army?

Yeah they are. I so did not have the patience to draw more than dots. Thanks!

I didn't think it was possible to really improve on the work you did for the last two images for the fanfiction, but you sure proved me wrong. This picture is GLORIOUS, as Lugnut would say, and looks even better if you download it and view it at full-size. It's not every artist who'd go out of their way to incorporate a new character design like Backtrack. The background is superb, and although it basically matches my descriptions, the toxic yellow colour somehow makes it look a lot more vibrant than the dull tones I imagined. Which is a good thing.
The linework and colouring on Sari is fantastic, she looks like she could be a screenshot. The motion effect on Bumblebee is very effective, as is the dirt and grime flying off his tyres. And for the record, I also imagined it would be Bumblebee breaking the sound barrier (this scene was inspired by an episode of Mythbusters I had just watched). On a final note, the Decepticon army spilling out of the canyon in the background just looks epic.
So if you ask me, time well spent, and good to see you acquiring new skills.

I didn't think it was possible to improve this quick either but it did take a great portion of my patience to do so. So now you see why I took so long. the GLORIOUSNESS depends on time and patience.
As for Backtrack, it was a little obstacle since he was obviously included in the scene but it turned out to be fun since I got to have my playtime and design him. That reminds me, I still need to post that picture showing the full Backtrack. Here you don't see much which is a shame considering he turned out to be a pretty cool bike.
And yes, I was so proud about how my first Sari turned out. I liked her pose, she doesn't look too still at all (like how Jazz looked on Jazz vs Strika).
I too, imagined that it was Bumblebee breaking the sound barrier (I saw that episode, too!!! ).
Phew! That was quite a lot. And thank you very much for your lengthy input. As you and everyone else who love my art know that I absolutely love comments. Not only does it stroke my ego but it encourages me to keep drawing and improve. Everyone out there hear that?! Be sure never to forget it.

Oh, this is great. I love the dynamism and colours. Very nice touch on the blurr on Bee's wheels and the dirt. That is a detail not many people think about, but it adds a lot of life to a piece.

I remember that fic!! I've been waiting FOREVER for the author to post another chapter. But I did make some art for it. It's called Seeker Dance and includes Slipstream and Starscream. I'll draw some more from that eventually.
