In Japan, there is a belief of a mystical, ethereal object known as the "Red String of Fate". It is the object that ties destinies together, ensuring two people are bound to meet. This string is to ensure that they will meet no matter what, as their souls are linked to one another.

I met the person I was tied to somewhere around five years ago, give or take. We didn't start off as friends, but grew into it.
And eventually, we became inseperable. Now, years of torment and supporting each other later, we are not what we used to be.

She used to be blood-red, and orange. I used to be blue-grey and teal.

And now we make the most beautiful shades of purple.
