the hands are beautiful. I fnd hands very difficult to draw. but perhaps you should draw faint lines where the nails should be

I like it, though I have two bits of critique if you'd like to hear it (not sure if this is something you'd be looking for critique on).

Of course I want to hear your critique. Were you going to point out that the hand closer to us is made of fail, the fingers don't look like they're pressing against the other hand's fingers, the hand is too slender and looks kinda flat, etc.

Yeah, go for it. I'm always game to improve, and since I was thinking I might do a series of hands with the red thread, best to have the crit before I do it.

Okay- first, I think the message of the piece is clear enough that it would be better on its own without the text. Taking the text out would allow the viewer to interpret it themselves, and if they wanted to draw a different, more meaningful (to them) message from it, that would allow them to do so.
(oops, I guess this second bit is on the technical aspects, forgot lol) I also think it would look better with a drawn or painted background- though you should still keep it simple. The textured background is such a different style from the hands that it looks pretty out of place, especially for something so symbolic as this.
But I do like the symbolism of the linked hands, it's classic, and I don't think it matters that the hands don't look like they're pressing against each other- if anything, the more delicate touch adds to what you're trying to say. IMO, of course. XD
