"The battle, is over. We may have won the war but, at the same time, lost it as well. We have suffered
greatly for this victory, but it was all necessary to end the fighting. At least, that's what I tell myself."
"This ship, my ship, is the last to arrive to port. Or, should I say, the last to survive. My men and I were
at the forefront of the battle, taking on the full force of our enemy's might. And for it, we received
crippling damage than the rest of the fleet had to endure. We may paved the way to victory, but in the
end my vessel, my pride and joy, was laid to waste from the ravages of wartime."
"My men.. my men.. They were brave, they were strong, they had the determination to fight to their
last breath. And they did.. One by one it seemed that they would fall, some on my vessel, and some into
the treacherous waves below. But they would not go down unless they had taken one of their foes down
with them, making sure that their ranks wouldn't outmatch ours. Those valiant men gave their lives for
their cause, and now they values are all but a memory, a hollow voice that whispers in my ear at night."
"The war was devastating, and the total destruction was too numerous for me to remember. My people
fought with every fiber of their being, taking every blow in stride and dealing back with the same ferocity
with their own assault. But when the tides had turned, when the enemy had seem to gained the upper
hand, when the war looked to be in their favor, the people turned to their leader, the captain of the fleet
for strength and the inspiration to fight on. And in his eyes they saw the fire that would not burn out from
the enemies attacks, the determination of a man whom would stand on his own to fight the hordes of the
invaders if he had to, the passion of man who lived for his people and their freedom. And from this, their
own fire was reignited, their resolve was reaffirmed, the will to keep fighting was brought back to live within
them, giving them the strength to shoulder on in the war. But after it was all over, their fire was extinguished,
their fight was gone. They were lost to the hollow sound of nothingness. Though not forgotten.. not by me.."
"It was difficult sailing for home, living with the fact that my friends, my neighbors, even my enemies who I
made amends with, were all lost to this battle, and others like it. My ship was in ruins, suffering from gaping
wounds throughout her body, taking on water with every rough wave and creaking horribly with sharp
movement, almost sounding like a woman sobbing in pain. My men, they laid before me under rags and torn sails
and any other cloth I could find as I tried to preserve them until they reached their homeland, to be honored by
their families. And myself? I struggled to keep going, to keep sailing, to keep fighting my own personal war to
stay alive."
"The weather and the sea was not on my side either, tossing me about from one place to another, trying to
force me to submit to its will. But I didn't bow to its wishes, nor did I break in my word, my oath to my people
to bring them to their home. Even when the harsh winds broke my sail in half, hoping to deter me from my goal,
I mocked the haughty winds with my determination and resolve. But when the winds stopped howling and the
sea had calmed, my ship was adrift, slowly moving if barely. Despair started to set in, along with hunger and
thirst that ate away at my hopes and goals, aimlessly drifting through the seas, falling in and out of consciousness.
But in my haze, I saw my loved ones. I saw their faces, clear as day. They held me close in their embrace,
keeping me warm and sheltered. They smiled and whispered to me: 'It's not your time...' I answered: 'What?
What do you mean?' 'This is not your time to die, not here.. You will have your day, this is not it. Wake up..
Wake up..' they said to me, urging me not to give up and strive on, strive to complete my mission, my promise
to my people."
"With that, I rose to me feet, trying to find the strength I need to fix my ship, but it was to no avail. My ship
was beyond repair, beyond the capability of what I possessed with me. But until the last of my breath had left
my body, I was getting my people home, by any means in my power."
"Upon seeing that my home being close within my reach, my ship soon became embodied in a sandbar, wedged
tight. With the last of my power, I tied several strong ropes to the mast and rails, threw them out to sea, dove
after them and started to pull on the ropes. At first, I had found no success to this venture, feeling my plan was
futile with the ship being stuck still. But I could hear the voices of my brethren in my head, cheering me on, calling
me home, calling us home. Somehow, this gave me the strength to pull, harder than I had before, with more
force than I ever had before. Within mere moments, my ship was free and was being pulled back to shore. I pulled
for maybe an hour when I heard cheering - real cheering. Not something that came from my mind, but actual people.
Real people. They stared in amazement as they saw one man pulling a massive vessel straight into the harbor,
seeing the power that this one man had, all to live up to his word. Never had they seen such determination, nor
would they see it again, especially when I gave out after letting go of the ropes, resting for days from exhaustion.."
"After the ceremony for the fallen, the people had a grand celebration for them for what they fought for, what
they stood for, and what they gave up for the safety of their people. Their lives were not lost in vain, for I did not
forget my promise to them, nor did I give up in my fight to survive that long and dangerous journey. They gave me
strength, my people gave me strength; not only to win the war, not only to sail home, not even to pull my ship..
But they gave me the strength to endure one more day, one more til the next. They gave me the strength to live
for something more.."

This is amazing. Great work I'm not an expert on the field so I'm not the one to provide a real review, but in my opinion, I liked it!

It's just a few things - some forgotten words and grammatical errors. Nothing a little proofreading won't fix. ^^

"I pulled for maybe an hour until I could hear cheering, real cheering, not any that came from my mind, but actual people, real people."
This one wasn't a big deal, though I felt it could have used a period in it somewhere. Maybe something like this:
"I pulled for maybe an hour when I heard cheering - real cheering. Not something that came from my mind, but actual people. Real people."
Hope that helps!
