I seem to go through phases where I stop doing really clean art and just end up posting really rough and sketchy stuff, haha. I'll get back into doing my cleaner sort of art soon. Anyway, it's a Saturday afternoon and I'm struggling to get out of bed, so I've randomly found myself doodling my very old main character, Silence the Hedgehog:

Although in the particular incarnation I've drawn in this reference sheet, I've made him look more darker and villainous (possibly an alternate variant of the character). Recently the piece above was stolen by someone and posted in their gallery, and hilariously he had stated that he was a villain character for another character that he had stolen (which is ironic, because Silence is really meant to be quite the goody-goody, haha). But I've always felt like making him an evil character at the back of my mind, so I figured since this guy tried to steal my character, I've decided to steal his characterization of him!

Anyways, really missed this old character of mine, he's a character I've evolved for the past 10 years now (Silence himself is based on my very first Sonic fancharacter, Sanjuro the Hedgehog from over 10 years ago, and updated into Silence to appear more Sonic canon-like in nature). It's a shame I don't actually do much with him when he's really meant to be my persona character of sorts. At the very least I've finally been able to update this design a little bit from the old 2010 image, and made his details a bit clearer (especially the back shot, since his quill design is quite complicated despite looking simple).

Also, extremely ironically for the longest time I had been wanting to get rid of the bandages around his arms because I felt like they weren't "Sonic-like" in design. But now that Sonic Boom is shown to use bandages as a recurrent design trait, it's apparently acceptable for Sonic characters to have them, haha. I've still went through with it and gotten rid of his boomdages anyway!

I'll add a bio and character history for him at a later stage.

Edit: Tweaked the blue to be a bit lighter, and adjusted his eye marking detail since I realized I forgot his trademark sharpness to it.
