This is great and an emotional tear-jerker for the fans. I could see in a future episode if/when the boys encounter another user of magic who causes them to see their worst fears come to life.
Arthur would probably see his father berating him or dying while Merlin would see Arthur turn his back on him (or even stab him) for knowing that he's a warlock.

Oh my God this vid. THIS VID. I watched a while ago and it just made me cry so much. I ended up replaying it a ridiculous number of times and breaking my heart again and again. And this is a lovely companion piece. Really nice!
