It's been a long while since I've worked with traditional media and with a long summer ahead of me, I thought now's the perfect time to work with it and improve!One of my all time favourite materials to work with traditionally is watercolours and after watching a lot of Danica Sills on YouTube, I've for sure picked up some tips n tricks that helped with making this piece! It was a lot of fun and I'm for sure gonna try maybe redoing this piece at the end of the year/summer to see if/how I've improved. My linework need some serious practice, it's so messy oops
Also busted out my bottle of masking fluid and asked my family what it smelt like to them;
- my mum: "Old people's pee"
- my cousin: "hairdye"
- my youngest sister: "dirty animal's cage"
- my other sister: "rotten fish" (i also think it smells like rotten fish lmao)
- my dad: "unclean cat litter"

it was fun to draw my own character again tbh!! like i've just gotten caught up in doing class work and drawing other things for other people that?? getting to revisit one of my own, older characters was super refreshing and fun!!

i used to hate using it in college?? but i'm not sure if that's bc i didn't get to use it with what i wanted to (i.e. watercolour) or if it was because 20+ bottles of the stuff opened at once fucking sTINKS
but now it's like, my fave thing!! it was SO satisfying peeling it off the paper and just seeing the crisp, clean edges where it had been mMMMM

Loool i was so bothered by it so what i ended up doing was doing watercolor and then Painting in things like highlights over with aceylic paint later looool

tbh i detest acrylic paint so i stay away from it as much as possible lmao
part of me wants to try out Gouache bc of it being like watercolour but more opaque, it's like some happy lil middle ground between the devil (acrylic) and the angel (watercolour) lmao
