Description This was intended to be a submission to the DAZaholics 'City of the Future' feature, but a lack of time (and processing power!) meant that I didn't finish it in time.  Plus there's been some excellent contributions that I intend to vote for.

I like the light and composition.

Thank you!  It was fun to do a desert-light scene.  As for the composition, the original render is significantly taller (top and bottom) than this, but I trimmed it down to eliminate a lot of extraneous pieces, so a special thank you for noticing that!

Heh!  Yep, eventually the sands will reclaim that city, like this one.

I'm not sure.  Maybe a combination of the sand and the sea.  Only thing is, some of those buildings are concrete/steel shells that could survive a nuclear strike.  They could go on for hundreds of thousands of years.

Perhaps; the wear of desert wind alone wouldn't knock the buildings down, but any cracks in the concrete from shifting or sinking sands will expose the rebar inside to oxidation.  The desert surrounding them might be a better resting place for the buildings in that case, as they'd last much longer spared the threat of water corroding their bones.

I'm a bit of a fan of the 'after humans' concept, especially epic ruins.  Not that I want humans gone, but I love seeing what happens where they haven't been in ages...

Firstly, couldn't agree more, I love the Urbex photography of people like ForlornTreasures  - and also with added glamorous girls.  Secondly, I recently started on the first season of the DVD box set of Life After People.  Love this whole concept.  Maybe as and when I create any new characters I might put them in a zombie holocaust.  That seems a very popular genre these days.
