Summer was coming to an end. The air was getting crisper, the leaves turned yellow and the lush grass was fading. Sometimes, the wind from between the mountains howled across the fields and between the trees. Near a clearing in the forest, a brown mare came to a halt to have a drink from the cold mountain river. They said the rivers in this land had a healing effect on every creature that drank from it. The waterfall cast clouds of tiny drops from the pure, green water onto the mare's coat, making it almost sparkle in the last few sunrays before the day ended. Feeling refreshed, the mare stayed by the river for a while, watching the motions as it floated by on its long journey towards the ocean. In this little paradise she felt... normal? Her dark chestnut coat and strong profile did not indicate anything wrong, and from a distance no one would notice the secret she carried around her neck. She could not remember anything from before the necklace was given to her, but the memories of the pain and torment she went through when she recieved it still haunted every bone in her body. Her eyes gazed upon the darkening sky. It would be cloudy tonight, maybe even some rain. Perfect. That bought her some time untill the next full moon. She closed her pale eyes. The necklace around her neck started glowing. Although her eyes had turned pale upon recieving the necklace, she was not blind, yet she was unsure if she saw the world with her own eyes ...or...

Suddenly, and by pure luck, she heard someone approaching from above the waterfall. She dropped her head, slowly and silently moving away from the river and hid in some nearby bushes. She could not stand meeting anyone, she did not want to meet anyone. Not tonight, just to be on the safe side. What if the sky cleared if only for a little bit? She would... no. No it could not happen. Yet something in the voice kept her there, watching between the leaves, staying as silent as possible. The voice sounded familiar... wait it was not only one voice, there were two, both heading her way. Lille pinned her ears, trying to hear what they said above the sound of the waterfall. They were still too far away to hear properly, but she caught onto a few sentences and words now and then. It sounded like they were looking for something? What could it be? Without moving she subconsciously looked around, but could not see anything out of the ordinary. Silently she peeped a bit further out, but hastily pulled her head back and forced herself to be silent.

There, just inches above her stood someone she had seen once before. Glamr. The stallion who had no herd, yet were concidered the leader of all the northern Draugrs. She had heard many stories of him, and although she could not recall anything from her foalhood, she still had memories of stories being told about him from she was very young. Some stories implied that he alone saved the lands from a viscious dragon. Upon slaying the dragon, he had devoured the beast's seidr, giving himself dragonlike features like horns, wings and unexplainable abilities. Some also saidhad been too great for thestallion and it had turned him dark and demonic. While some said they had witnessed him swim through old jarl's graves, others would say they had seen him walk through fire as if he was forged in the flames of hell.

A shadow passed above her, and as she looked up her blood froze. It was hard to decide from this angle if he was the unpredictable dragon slayer the rumors said he was, or if he was entirely in control of his unnatural powers. Whoever he was behind the massive appearance and fire-y red eyes, she did not intend to find it out today. Then he spoke to another stallion, who looked older, but not any less wise or less experienced. The waterfall made it impossible to hear still what they were talking about, but they were indeed looking for something of value, something that had to do with the river and its surroundings, and it had to be valuable as they both seemed persistent of finding whatever they were looking for. The older and unfamiliar stallion started walking down the narrow path towards the river. That was Lille's cue to get out of there while they were still too busy to notice her. She sneaked away, unseen.

At least that was what she thought. Up on the hill, Glamr had seen her the entire time, pretending not to. He flicked his ears, watching as she left for the woods again. The mare whos amulet contained her soul. He slowly followed Skjåk down the waterfall. ''Did you find anything?'' He asked, looking at the stream of water.
''Sorry Glamr. It looks like we need to wait untill it stops raining in the mountains. Its far too much water to find anything and from the looks of it, we might get even more rain tonight.'' Skjåk replied
''Then we'll wait a few days and try again'' Glamr said, but his eyes were still looking in the direction Lille had left.
