The landscape definitely wows me; we don't have hills, much less mountains, in Chicago! It's almost mystical to see a verdant crag rising so steeply out of the water.
However, I do have to agree with ~sunquai 's comments on the composition. Basically, what is this picture "about"? Is it about the mountains, the lake, the sky, the foreground or some combination thereof? It's unclear to the viewer what is important; too many elements become overwhelming. You could address the lack of focus with some strategic cropping, though the photo is largely limited by where you were standing. If you had wanted to emphasize the distant landscape, I can only imagine how dramatic a picture could have been from a boat. Alternately, you could have played with the scale by giving more attention to the marshy area in the foreground framing the mountain.
Reflecting on his comment about the de-saturated color, part of the strong contrast is inherent to viewing a brightly lit background from a shaded foreground. However, you could counteract it by playing with contrast and color balance in Photoshop.
Finally, I have a pet peeve about diagonal horizons... =panopticum provides an easy way of fixing camera tilt in his "how 2 fix lense distortions" tutorial.
This picture has so much potential, from the rich cobalt blues and pale turquoises to the dappling of the water and the dramatic landscape. Let yourself loose with post-processing and wade into the water! Give us what you saw, not what your camera saw.

OMG! That's so beautiful! What a beautiful photo, I don't know much of photography, so I cant't tell you of any technical mistakes, so I can only give you my opinion and I say this is beautiful! I love the mountains fading and the smaller lake in front, and how the clouds look, very pretty indeed. Very well done! ^^ Faved it!

Well I'll put it in a nicer manner then. There is too much happening in the picture with the hill, and the water and the thing in the water and the mist and the trees in the forground asnd the reeds and the pond of water in front, then the grass sticking out. It's not a easy going photo to look at, you'd distracted us from the beauty into trying to place everything together and keeping us busy. You can call this a good thing if you like, but I'm not "Enjoying" like you said. As for the smokey ness and lack of colour. Well to me everything in the background is all very bright contrasting to the dimly lit forground. To me it doesn't stick to the rule of thirds, rather some messy rule of two's. Think about it rather than get your knickers in a twist. I'm not persay insulting the image, just showing you what sets it appart from a snapshot (Which it apaears to me as) and an A grade landscape, which would get featured. So if you knew all this and took it seriously you might have a shot.

No one got their "knickers in a twist", whether thats what you wanted as a responce from me or not. I can take crit, i jst didnt believe your first comment was really that. Now you have expanded, great. and yes, i can see your point/s quite clearly and thanks for pointing out what you see as wrong. Though, i havent called it a "good thing", so where that part of your comment comes from, i have no idea.
IMHO when you give crit, the least you could do is be nice about it. not have this stinking negative attitude, that you exude. but hey, i think ill live

well some deviants are so protective of their work they say things like "that's the way I wanted it" when it's clear that what they really want is to be the best, and not have to take any harsh critizism to get there. I wasn't emplying you were in that catagory of people, I was just covering my ground just in case. I'm sorry if what I say comes off coldly, it's really the way you read it I guess.
